Four fortified gates, two of which still show the plumb line of a sentry, a rampart and superb residences highlighted by stair towers, vaulted passages, corbels or mullioned windows... With this stone décor, inherited from the Middle Ages, which runs from the Maison des Consuls and its beautiful 18th century fireplace to the Maison de Jeanne, from the covered market or "Sestayral" to the Saint-Sauveur church, from the archaeological museum to the Place de la Fontaine, the medieval town of Sévérac-le-Château continues to attract the crowds.

Le cité est relativement bien préservé, avec de nombreux panneaux le long du parcours. On peut bien imaginer l'ampleur de ce cité à l'époque...il faut pas oublier le chateau !

Très beau site qui mérite que l'on s'y attarde. La cité médiévale est remarquablement bien préservée et des petits panneaux explicatifs sont répartis dans les rues pour ceux qui cherchent des explications. Les vieilles maisons qui ont traversé les âges portent des traces architecturales intéressantes. Les heurtoirs des portes sont chacun plus originaux les uns que les autres. Enfin, depuis le château, la vue embrasse l'ensemble du paysage alentour et permet de terminer la visite en beauté.
to go directly to the Tourist Office on the main street parallel to the castle. enjoy a pass with the guided tour of the city, the original activities with figures of the medieval era, fun and being completed on a very pleasant tasting for children and adults (discoveries of spices, traditions and customs of yesteryear), falconry show around 18:00 that will delight children and adults one duration of 1:00. very synchro unfolding. beautiful discovery that allows you to spend the day or half day. (a little walk with a light up the city to the castle).
