FRONTON DE VIEUX BOUCAU

In every village in the Landes and Pays Basque, the fronton - a large red wall lined with a Basque pelota court - is the venue for sporting events and festivals. But the Vieux Boucau fronton is special! It's the largest in the Landes region: 12 m high, 14 m wide and 90 m long. Many Basque pelota matches are played here in summer, preceded by a Landes folklore show with a group of stilt-walkers, much to the delight of curious visitors!
