CHURCH OF LA MADELEINE

The Madeleine church is located near the old château. It features a massive, square bell tower, a spindly cloister and a cloister. Its construction dates back to the ^14th century. In 1821, the architect Arthaud had it rebuilt following the collapse of some of its vaults. From 1822 onwards, the Madeleine church belongs to the neoclassical style. A fresco depicting the life of Saint Mary Magdalene was painted by Mme Grimard-Baudet. Consecrated in 1829, the church was listed as a Historical Monument in 1975.
