BATTLEFIELD CIRCUIT
Read moreWould you like to discover the battlefield accompanied by a guide? This circuit is for you! On board a bus, a guide of the Tourist Office will guide you through this Red Zone. Punctuated by stops on essential sites 14-18 (Fort de Douaumont, Ossuaire de Douaumont and its necropolis, the destroyed village of Fleury-front-Douaumont and some remnants of war), this "turnkey" visit is a great starting point for discovering and understanding the battle of Verdun.
Guided tours of the city of Verdun
Read moreVerdun was not born in 1916. While the terrible battle that took place in the First World War marked the minds forever, the city has a long-built, and (too) often forgotten heritage. From June to September, the tourist office offers you a number of hiking tours. Accompanied by a keynote guide, explore the important monuments of the city: all testify to a rich religious, military and merchant past. In an hour and a half, you will also understand Verdun's place in the history of Europe.
