This castle welcomed many personalities, including the queen of France at the time
Daughter of François Vaudemont, Henriette de Lorraine became Princess of Lorraine when her father and brother were appointed dukes of the region. In the 17th century, she ordered the construction of a château at Sampigny. It was home to a number of prominent figures, including the Queen of France at the time. Time and, above all, the bombardments of the First World War took their toll on the splendid residence, of which all that remains today are the imposing ruins of a characterful, multi-storey stone façade.
