The house where writer Georges Bernanos penned his first novel, )
Writer Georges Bernanos moved in with his family in 1924. It was here that he wrote his first work, the famous novel Sous le soleil de Satan( Under the Sun of Satan), which brought him great success with the general public. His wife's health failed, and the family moved to Bagnères-de-Bigorre two years later. A commemorative plaque on the façade pays tribute to him. Today, he has left his mark on the city of Bar-le-Duc, where streets, restaurants and other establishments bear his name.
