House considered one of the emblematic works of architecture

Built in 1954, the Jean Prouvé house is considered one of the emblematic works of 20th century architecture. Indeed, Jean Prouvé is a great figure of Art Nouveau and the Nancy School. Its position on the heights of the city makes it difficult to access. However, the workshop and garden can be visited freely or on a guided tour, even during the summer. The house and the office of the Ateliers have been classified as historical monuments since 1987, three years after the death of their founder.

C’est une chance de pouvoir visiter cette maison avec un guide. C’est bien qu’elle puisse être habitée mais dommage que le mobilier des chambres ne soit pas « d’époque » et que le jardin ne soit pas entretenu un minimum. Elle mériterait sans doute une rénovation.

Décevant. Pas de rétrospective de l'ensemble de ses projets. Rien à voir avec l'exposition très documentée de Arles, il y a quelques années. Quand on n'est plus tout jeune, l'accès demande quelques poses!
