The ALAT museum, located near the helicopter pilot school, organizes visits to discover aviation objects

South of Dax, near the airfield, the ALAT (Aviation Légère de l'Armée de Terre) et de l'Hélicoptère museum is a military organization located near the helicopter pilot school. Guided tours take place on Tuesdays and Fridays from 2.30pm. Allow 2 hours. On other days, tours are free. The 45 aircraft, deployed over 7,000 m², and other objects and memorabilia, will enlighten you on the adventure of light aviation and the army.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié notre visite de l’ALAT à Dax. Un lieu intéressant, qui permet de découvrir l’univers de l’aviation militaire. Un grand merci au bénévole présent, qui a pris le temps de partager quelques explications passionnantes — c’était un vrai plus pour la visite !

Une belle découverte, surtout si vous êtes curieux de l’histoire aérienne et locale.

A large museum set in two hangars containing 30 helicopters of many types. This was on my list of 'Must see' places and was not disappionted. If you ask an official they will let you sit in some for a photo'. Too many photo's to post. Large parking area outside.

Totalmente recomendable, si te gusta el tema, gratuito, está a las afueras de Dax. Andando desde el centro tardamos 40 minutos, hay parking gratuito, y parada de autobús justo en la puerta.

Vraiment un très bon musée pour un musée gratuit !
Il y a pas mal d'appareils à voir avec des fiches explicatives à chaque fois.
Certains hélicoptères sont impressionnants à voir en vrai.

Je conseil fortement !
