Following the demise of the big Latécoère seaplanes that were the pride of the Mermoz, Guillaumet and other generations, floatplanes eventually deserted our lakes, rivers and seashores, followed by hydrobases and other hydrosurfaces. That's why only the Biscarrosse hydrobase can still claim this title today, even though it's open to general air traffic. Baptism, flight over the dunes, the Basin...
