DREAL implements, under the authority of regional and department prefects, the policies of the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Solidarity and the Ministry of Territorial Cohesion.
This regional direction promotes a transversal approach to sustainable development in the regions. It aims to reconcile the preservation of our environment with the economic challenges of our territories. Its areas of intervention include land use planning, travel, housing and housing, control of natural and technological risks, and preservation of natural resources. The DREAL New Aquitaine, through its role as an enslaver, prescriber and consultancy, is accompanied by its public and private partners to ensure balanced, territorial development. It participates in the challenge of the energy and ecological transition of our society.
