LE MOULIN DE BÉNESSE

Perched on a 97-metre-high hill, the only windmill in the Landes region has plenty to appeal to lovers of beautiful scenery. With Chalosse at its feet, it rises above the Pyrenees chain, from the Pic du Midi de Bigorre to the Rhune. The spectacle could stand on its own, but a visit to the mill is a must, for beneath its wings, stones and impressive framework lies a story of men, hearts and sweat. And a miller! Guided tour from mid-April to mid-November, Wednesday to Monday, 3pm-6pm (and 11am-12pm from July to September).
