Church of Limousin Romanesque style with the marks of the road to Santiago and a beautiful bell tower, placed on the road to Compostela.

This abbey church occupies an important place on the road to Compostela. The arrival of the relics of St. Bartholomew ensured the monastery's development. It was built in the 11th century by monk-masons, Compagnons stonemasons and initiated carpenters who, in addition to their remarkable technical skills, possessed an architectural philosophy, which explains the importance of symbolism and the golden ratio in this pilgrimage site. immense abbatiale située sur une des voies des chemins de Compostelle (la voie de Vézelay). Au cœur de Benevent l'abbaye petit bourg classé villages et cités de caractère (seul ville de Creuse ayant ce label). visite gratuite, quelques messe célébrées dans l'abbatiale notamment l'été (calendrier à l'entrée).
