Housed in the former École Nationale d'Arts Décoratifs, the Cité internationale de la Tapisserie in Aubusson showcases the art of basse lisse weaving, practiced in Aubusson-Felletin for nearly six centuries and recognized by UNESCO. Boasting an exceptional collection including 660 tapestries and rugs from the 15th to the 21st century, 18,000 graphic works, 60 pieces of woven furniture and antique tools, the Cité offers an immersive tour retracing the history of this tradition, highlighting both the ancient, modern and contemporary works and the excellent skills that bring them to life.
