This site offers a pleasant walk in the heights and undergrowth of Aubazine

The Canal des Moines is an exceptional 1.7 km-long 12th-century engineering structure, sometimes carved into the rock, sometimes built as a corbelled structure, running along the rock face from its water intake on the Coyroux stream. Hand-dug by the abbey's Cistercian monks, it served fish ponds and mills and brought water to the monastery. A true feat of engineering. Follow the path through the heights and undergrowth of Aubazine, and enjoy the panoramic views. An opportunity to immerse yourself in medieval history while enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. Sublime.

Balade bucolique
Une belle balade bucolique, le long du canal, jusqu'à sa source dans le Coyroux.
Pas sure qu'il faille monter jusqu'au calvaire pour le retour, il suffit juste de revenir sur ses pas et profiter une deuxième fois de cet incroyable ouvrage réalisé par les moines.

Beautiful walk to make even with children. Small rise at the beginning and after beautiful landscape. After the waterfall, not to return on its steps but continue the path that leads up to return to Aubazine.
