It was in December 1816 that the third town hall settled at that location, at the time it housed the responsible of the commune but also the prison. During the next century, the building will decay and become unhealthy. At the end of 1919, the town hall moved and took its quarters of General-de-Gaulle, leaving for the building only its door.

Porte de la Troisième Mairie 34340 Marseillan
La Porte de la 3ème Mairie située à Marseillan-Ville est une porte surtout symbolique de par ce qu'elle a abrité jadis, en tant qu'hospice puis prison, et la mémoire des malheurs qui y ont certainement eu lieu. Elle mérite cependant le détour car ses pierres basaltiques noires sont encore belles.
