Seven-arched bridge built by the Romans for the Via Domitia to Narbonne.
Nicknamed "bridge street" by locals, the Pont des Marchands is a 14th-century monument of Roman origin. Spanning the Canal de la Robine and linking the two parts of the town, it is one of the few inhabited bridges in France. Before houses were built on this monument in the late Renaissance, the site was home to a seven-arched bridge built by the Romans for the Via Domitia. Today, only the central arch remains, as the river's flow has diminished and the bed has been transformed into the Robine canal.
