TOQUES ET CLOCHERS
Toques et Clochers is a wine auction whose profits allow the restoration of the bell towers of the 42 villages located in the Limoux appellation sector. Over the years, this event has become the 2nd largest wine auction in France after the Hospices de Beaunes. The auctions are presided over by a 3-star chef, and directed by Sotheby's, they bring together the world of wine and allow wine lovers to discover the different terroirs of the Limoux vineyard. It is the Sieur d'Arques winery in Limoux that is at the origin of this friendly event created in 1990, which has grown since its inception. Each year, a different village hosts this event, usually a weekend in March. Toques et Clochers invites you to come and taste the white wines and other blanquettes (one glass bought gives you the right to four tastings), and to eat at one of the stands offering local gastronomy. The auction usually takes place on Sundays, but activities are organised throughout the weekend.
