The Centre National de la Danse - CND - was created in 1998, and has been based on the banks of the Canal de l'Ourcq since 2004. It is a training and documentation center, as well as a venue for performances throughout the year. The building was designed in 1965 by architect Jacques Kalisz, and leaves no one indifferent: it's a perfect example of Brutalist architecture, decried or adored. It includes eleven dance studios and a specialized media library.
