For lovers of Shakespeare's language, ReelBooks is the place to be in Fontainebleau. This English-language bookshop is run by the charming Susan Dumand, who gives her visitors sound advice and shares her Anglo-Saxon culture with them. You'd think the majority of customers would be English-speaking. But no, they're mainly French. As she explains, when they come here, they can take the books in hand and read the first page to see if they have the necessary level to go further.

It's the same quality of advice and exchange that is so important to the owner, Antoine. Four beautiful galley tables present the latest releases, and the shelves feature literature, philosophy, history, the arts, guides of all kinds, an extensive competitions area and a new children's area with selected comics and a few mangas, to keep up with the times. The bookshop also features works from the La Pléiade collection, which brings together some of the greatest authors in history.

It's a bookshop well known to the locals, and renowned for both the products on offer and the quality of the advice given to customers. Such an offer includes eclectic items for sale (books of all kinds, comics, etc.), and a dynamic approach to the literary genre, notably through meetings between the public and authors.
