THE BIG COMMUNAL WASH-HOUSE
Known as the Lavoir washing house and discover by walking along the banks of Charcoal, this former washing house reflects daily life: the lavandières and the noise of their battoirs, their laughter, etc. The laundry finished, they had to climb the coast pushing a wheelbarrow loaded with still heavy linge water. A beautiful rural building whose architectural beauty is worth a visit.
Note: along the Château-Landon trails, there are no fewer than seventeen washing machines (partially restored) as well as a former mill.
