The people of Lyon know the house well. Since 1953, they have enjoyed its sweet specialties, chocolates and pastries. Today, the pleasure of tasting its sweets is accessible to Parisians thanks to this store just a few steps from the Bon Marché. It was necessary to dare to come and measure up to the big names in Paris - La Maison du Chocolat, Jacques Genin... -, but Bernachon has everything to hold them up: experience, know-how... and the Palet d'or, the house's standard (a melting ganache coated with dark chocolate, with gold leaf).

I was so excited to visit this place, but it turned out to be a huge disappointment. I ordered three milk chocolate, one white chocolate, and one dark chocolate tablet. The person who took my order—I couldn’t tell if it was a he or a she—had black hair and was tall. They didn’t write anything down, but since my order was quite simple, I assumed they would remember it.
However, they brought me one milk chocolate, three white chocolates with nuts, and one dark chocolate—completely wrong. I corrected them, and when they finally registered my order, the total came to 60 euros, which is the price for six chocolate tablets. But I had only ordered five! Apparently, they can’t remember an order, and they can’t even count. What a joke.
