As you enter the garden from Place Valhubert, a 500-metre perspective leads your gaze towards the greenhouses and the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution. There's so much to discover here! One of the oldest trees in Paris, a black locust planted in 1636, stands in front of the botanical gallery. The alpine garden features 2,000 mountain plants of diverse origins, and the greenhouses house lush vegetation under their 16 m-high glass roofs. Part of the Pontoise sports complex, the 33 m x 15 m pool is an institution and a meeting place for local students and dynamic executives. The site is famous for having been the setting for part of the shooting of Kieslowski's famous film Bleu. Arabic is the fourth most spoken language in the world. The rhyme of the Arabic children is Ali Baba and the forty thieves, or Aladdin and his fabulous magic lamp. At the Institut du Monde Arabe, modern Arabic courses are offered to children (in small groups of ten to twelve) from the age of seven. The goal is to enable children express themselves fluently in this language, while developing their creativity. Their achievements are regularly tested through an evaluation system. At the end of the year, these children take part in shows with songs, stories, sketches.
