The ruins of Roman defense from the 4th century and excavated from underground. Includes a museum of many antiquities found in the area and in the Seine river

Ended up here after a tour. Although we absolutely could not hear the low talking tour guide over the street noise, still was a good experience to read the history found in the crypts. Lots of architecture finds and good reading for those of us that live history.

Unexpected find.

To see the archaeological sites is so amazing.

Don’t miss this gem. Ruins of Medieval Paris and even ancient Gaulle (the first settlement in the area) sit quietly under the hustle and bustle of the Notre Dame square directly above. You will be underground so claustrophobics beware. Otherwise don’t miss seeing the ancient city that began it all.

Underrated! Not so crowded either

Standing strong by the Seine, Notre-Dame rises once more — a timeless symbol of Parisian soul and resilience.

We popped in here while waiting for are allocated slot to visit the Cathedral. It is well worth visiting to get an understanding of Roman Paris. The museum is easy to navigate, with good signage but most importantly interesting.

Very neat little museum. I would like to have a bit more info about the sections of ruins we were seeing (if they know)... some areas did, but there were others that I was curious about that I couldn't find info about. Lots of fantastic information and artifacts about the history of the area.

If you like history this is one of the rare places in Paris to visit.
