Read moreThe purpose of local representatives against AIDS, whose founding president is Jean-Luc Romero, is to remind local elected representatives that they have a duty to mobilize against AIDS, at a time when there is a significant demobilization of the French, elected, in the fight. Over 10 000 elected representatives signed the manifesto of ELCS, which creates a moral obligation and results, committing them to mobilize for prevention, but also to solidarity and fraternity vis-à-vis HIV-positive people and sick people. Regional and departmental meetings are organized to meet with actors in the fight against AIDS from the political, associative and medical worlds. During these meetings, stakeholders take stock of the epidemic in each of the departments visited and on the actions developed by local communities. They are finally thinking about implementing actions, based on the 11 Life Struggle proposals. Since the creation of ELCS, these meetings have helped to prepare 14 general states that took place in the Senate, the National Assembly, the Regional Council of Ile-de-France and the City Hall of Paris. The ELCS association is organised in network and consists of about departmental delegations.
