The beheading theater of the Revolution in Paris, designed from 1755 by Ange-Jacques Gabriel

It offers one of the finest panoramic views of the city of Paris: octagonal in shape, the space is bordered by the Seine, the Champs-Elysées and the Tuileries Gardens. The Jeu de Paume museum overlooks it, facing the Luxor obelisk. To the west are the Hôtel Crillon and the Hôtel de la Marine. As for the corners of the square, each has been given the allegory of a French city. The splendid square will also be the setting for the Paris Olympic Games next summer.

L'obélisque de Louxor, situé dans le prolongement des Champs Elysées, avec, au fond, l'Arc de triomphe. L'obélisque est dorée et ornée de hiéroglyphes.
A ne pas rater un des monuments les plus mythiques, un incontournable lieux de visite.

Mieux vaut éviter d’y aller en voiture car le stationnement est ultra compliqué . Un morceau d’histoire et une visite des plus gratuites sur Paris. Une foule de détails s’offrent à celui qui sait voir , regarder et prendre son temps.
