An opportunity to discover the Musée de l'Orangerie, a wonderful place on the banks of the Seine, opposite the Place de la Concorde.

The Musée de l'Orangerie is renowned for its collection of Claude Monet's Water Lilies. These eight large canvases, painted between 1914 and 1926, are arranged in two oval rooms, immersing visitors in the painter's aquatic universe. Stricken with cataracts, Monet wished to give France a final gift. Georges Clemenceau, then Prime Minister, supported the project. The museum also features works by Cézanne, Renoir, Matisse and Picasso, and offers a panorama of French art from the 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as rich temporary exhibitions.

A voir !

Museum with a beautiful collection of paintings from the nineteenth and twentieth century, rooms reserved for Claude Monet's nymheas on the ground floor at the lower level rooms hosting the greatest artists. Temporary exhibitions are good news. Japanese collection Bridgestone last year, Dada in winter 2017-18, it is a pleasure to discover these new exhibitions. Take 1:30 a. m. to 2 a. m. to visit the rooms without pressing the middle of a day in this museum district (Grand and Petit Palais, Musée d 'Orsay,). The ticket combined with the Musée du Quai d 'Orsay can be booked online to avoid the sometimes long queue.
