The oldest bridge in Paris, comprising two sections linked by a median strip, offering a pleasant promenade.
This is the oldest bridge in Paris. Inaugurated in 1607 by Henri IV, its construction had begun under Henri III. At the time, it was the epitome of novelty, being devoid of houses (unlike other bridges) and featuring sidewalks and small half-moon balconies. The bridge is made up of two parts, connected by a median overlooking the Place Dauphine on one side and the Place du Pont-Neuf on the other. For a few months, an exhibition below celebrates the famous 1985 "packaging" of the structure by artists Christo and Jeanne Claude.
