More than ten years after its opening, the challenge has largely been met. Indeed, the Centquatre brings together in a single, very large space, various sites of artistic creation and production open to all disciplines, and which offer various shows, screenings, readings, performances, exhibitions, workshops for young people or adults... What a lively place, on the very spot where the municipal undertaker's service - a building dating back to 1873 - was in operation until 1997. The Centquatre, or 104, which is a place of art, you have understood, is also a place of life. Restaurants, brasseries and shops are spread out in the immensity of the place.

Le 104 c'est une institution dans la quartier, un lieu comme on voudrait en trouver un peu partout. On y croise des danseurs, des jongleurs, des enfants, des personnes plus âgées flânant, des bobos, des gens plus modestes.... c'est un joyeux mélange de tout ce qu'on trouve dans ce coin de Paris...et ça fonctionne! La magie est au rdv avec de la musique et des rires, des marchés et des expositions. De la culture et un espace de vie et d'expression pour tous : on en redemande!
