This hall is the last survivor of the theatres of the «boulevard du crime», a nickname given to one of the main axes that limited Paris. The places of show were very numerous and popular - Marcel Meat presented a revival in his film Les Enfants du paradis. This boulevard where one killed himself on stage was wound up to be replaced by the place of the Republic. There is only one portion, where the Déjazet is located. Formerly a palm game room built in 1770, the venue became a theatre in 1851. It will be held from 1859 by Virginie Déjazet, famous actress of his time. For nearly 100 years, there are vaudevilles and operettas. After becoming a cinema in the middle of the 1970 th century, and then threatened to be demolished to cave in to a supermarket in the s, Déjazet returned to the live show. Coluche was the star of the show in 1977. From 1982 to 1985, Macloma clowns settled there. Then, from 1986 to 1993, the Déjazet became the Libertarian Theatre of Paris. Léo Ferré, Font and Val, Mouloudji, Henri Tachan, Gilles Vigneault, Georges Moustaki, La Madeleine Proust and many jazzmen are on the scene of this charming Italian room of about 500 places. Since the end of TLP adventure, theatre, humor and song continue to make good use of it.
