Organized on the occasion of the donation of 92 prints by the artist's grandchildren, the exhibition proposed by the Bibliothèque nationale de France offers an overview of Antoni Clavé's engraved work. About fifty works from 1955 to 1995 retrace forty years of a journey of great technical and stylistic richness. Lithographs, etchings, aquatints, carborundum engravings, embossings, collages and lithographed kraft allow us to understand a facet of this unclassifiable creator's work.
In December 2017, prior to the exhibition "Antoni Clavé - Estampes" presented at the BnF, Skira Publishing published the entirety of the artist's engraved work in a book containing nearly 520 original prints and 22 bibliophilic books to which the artist has contributed.
