The Domaine de Sceaux attracts many visitors for its 17th-century park, in the French garden tradition. Unsurprisingly, it was Le Nôtre who designed it, while Colbert had the château built. Park open every day from sunrise to sunset. January: 8am-5pm. February: 8am-6pm. March: 7:30am-7pm then 7am-8:30pm from the national time change. April: 7am-8.30pm then 7am-9pm. May: 7am-9.30pm. June: 7am-22pm. July: 7am-22pm. August: 7am-9pm. September: 7:30am-8:30pm (8pm from September 10th). October: 8am-7pm then 8am-5pm from the national time change. November: 8am-5pm. December: 8am-5pm. Free entry to the park. Museum: 4 € per adult for the permanent exhibition, 5 € for temporary exhibitions. Guided tour (for a fee). Shop. Pavillon de l'Aurore open for group visits, only by reservation. Remarkable Garden Label.

On découvre l'Orangerie édifiée par Jules Hardouin-Mansart et le château-musée de l'Ile de France.
Mais l'intérêt principal est le vaste parc réalisé par Le Nôtre avec son grand canal, le bassin de l'octogone, le pavillon de Hanovre et celui de l'Aurore. Les week-ends , l'eau s'échappe des mascarons sculptés par Rodin et fournit le spectacle gratuit des grandes cascades au pied du Tapis Vert.
Fraîcheur l'été et très belle perspective.
N'oubliez pas de vous poser quelques instants au bord du majestueux bassin central, au moins le temps de faire vos étirements.
