SYNDICAT VITICOLE DE LALANDE DE POMEROL
This wine union was created in 1884 after the demolition of the vineyard by phylloxera. Its aim at the time was to distribute the funds allocated to wine growers fairly. Today, it brings together the 190 wine growers of the Lalande appellation of call, which extends to the commune de Lalande de Pomerol and Néac. Their 1 100 hectares of vines are planted with Merlot, Cabernet franc and Cabernet sauvignon. The Wine Union deals with the interests of Pomerol's Appellation of call, and promotes its name and reputation, as well as to ensure the quality of the wines sold. A specification and an inspection plan were set up in 2008. The inspection body whose GDO depends on Nomme. The role of this inspection body is, of course, to monitor the application of the specification. But its goals are broader: to avoid financial excesses, to monitor with serenity and transparency, to answer the questions of wine growers before any control and to work towards the development of irreproachable products on the soil.
