Visit to the discovery of a church of Romanesque and Gothic style, with a remarkable tribune with three sides, in Montivilliers.
Built between 1035 and 1065, the church was originally intended for use by the abbey. Romanesque and Gothic styles coexist here: in 1241, the Benedictine abbess ceded the nave up to the transept to the parishioners. Having acquired the right to hold services in the nave, the parishioners enlarged it in 1450, in the Gothic style. The three-bay choir blends the two styles, as does the Romanesque portal, which was joined by a Romanesque bell tower paid for by the parishioners, and a Gothic porch. Of particular note is the exceptional Gothic three-sided tribune.
