Associations for the disabled Le Havre

La Ligue Havre is the main association for disability in our city. It, in its own right, manages different establishments from the childhood of disability to its end of life in some cases. Educational Medical Institutes, Centres for Help through Labour, Home houses… these structures allow for evolution, the integration of people with disabilities regardless of the stage of their existence. An association that wants to break the solitude, all too often alone of people with disabilities. But this structure also works to preserve the dignity of people affected by a motor impairment. Everything is done here to ensure the autonomy of the disabled, thanks to actions by professionals who have the nose in the handlebars for their cause.

ALPEAIH is an association created by parents of disabled children. It includes a number of specialized structures for the reception of disabled persons. A medical institute - IMP - for the youngest where they are dispatchés according to their age in structured classes with school work, manual activities, a medical institute - IMPROVISATIONS - for the older ones where they learn in workshops, sewing, woodworking, painting… specialized and competent educational teams - educators, doctors, psychologists… - surround the residents all the day. Without forgetting the building dedicated to autistic people - the only one in Le Havre.

The association welcomes people - children, adults and adolescents - who are placed by departmental social assistance. Nine people are therefore grouped into three apartments with an ongoing educational team. They learn about their autonomy. In another apartment, people who are slightly more autonomous and able to manage moments of solitude. In addition, the association offers day activities to many polyhandicapés. Handas, for 20 years, has seen 17 people leave his structure and take place in life will live alone, without help! So there are successes! We can only join this association and the work done by Mr Blondel and his team.
