The imposing Château de Gisors was a strategic site, since the Epte, the river that runs through the town, was the border of Normandy from the 10th to the early 13th century. Here, you'll discover magnificent rib-vaulted rooms and a dungeon with walls adorned with graffiti left by former inmates. Then climb a few hundred steps to the top of the dungeon and admire a breathtaking panorama. The Gisors la Légendaire show is presented every year in May, each time inspired by a different legend.

The park and the castle are open free of charge from 9 am to 5 pm in winter and until 7:30 pm in summer. Guided tour of 50 minutes, on reservation at the tourist office, from March 26 to November 6 on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 2:30 pm (except the third weekends of May, August and September). Full price 5 € ; reduced price 4 €. Closed on public holidays and in December. Accueil Vélo.

The Château Fort de Gisors is an emblematic monument located in the town of Gisors. This fortress was built to protect the Norman possessions of the King of England from the desires of the King of France. It was part of a major campaign of fortifications in the Epte valley. Over the centuries, it underwent several transformations to become a veritable frontier town and eastern lock of the region. Access to the château grounds is free and unrestricted. Guided tours are organized to discover the watchtower, which has been transformed into a massive octagonal keep. You can also go down into the cellars of the former dwelling. Take a guide with you to learn about the history and legends of the site, the most mythical of which is that of the Templar treasure. A typical place to discover!
