On the road to Louviers, near the castle of Acquigny, this Norman cottage offers a pleasant stopover. The menu displays regional specialities at the pace of market products. The establishment bets on its meat, turkeys and other game cooked over a wood fire in front of the customers. For dessert, the seasonal fruit crumble or the Belle-Hélène pear, from the garden, are sure values. No menus but a variety of reasonably priced daily specials, which everyone can combine with the starter and dessert of their choice. Theme evenings are organized throughout the year. In March, the house offers a week on the theme of St. Patrick's Day. The owner, of Irish origin, puts typical dishes of her country on the menu. Clever: you can organize your receptions in the establishment! Do not hesitate to ask for more information.
Un conseil : réservez absolument pour ce genre de soirées (St Patrick et autres St Vincent...) car le restaurant affiche complet plusieurs mois à l'avance !
Les personnes au service sont aimables et les patrons sont très accueillants !
On traverse la cuisine pour aller dans la salle du fond les jours d'affluence, c'est original et entre les odeurs de cuisson et le fait de voir sa cuisine préparée... on se régale d'avance :-)
Certes ce n'est pas un endroit où on mange pour 12€ par personne, mais je trouve le rapport qualité/prix excellent compte tenu du fait de la qualité de la cuisine, de l'accueil, de l'originalité des plats, du choix des vins... Bref, j'y retournerai !
