The coulée verte cycle path runs alongside the Haute-Saône canal. In the Territoire de Belfort, it stretches over 13 km between Essert and Châtenois-les-Forges. Situated on the banks of the canal, the Coulée Verte is one of the most pleasant walks in the Territoire de Belfort where walkers, cyclists, horse riders and runners meet. Created in the mid-90s, the surface of the Coulée Verte was redesigned in 2008. The circuit linking the Cité du Lion to Montbéliard is used for commuting as well as for leisure activities.
