In 1843, the parishioners decided to destroy the old building. During the years 1846 to 1850, the church of Saint Ambrose is rebuilt, with a bell of 13 m high under the cross. In 1872, the clocher is enhanced to give it a more slender appearance, with a height of 18 m. On 26 December 1999, the storm arrache the steeple and part of the corniche that supports it. It will be rebuilt at its original height.
