The Grande Saline de Salins-les-Bains is an ancient salt production site, unique in Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For 1,200 years, men exploited the naturally salty waters gushing from the subsoil to extract the precious white gold. A guide will show you around the two brine extraction wells and the evaporation building. The area is partially accessible for people with reduced mobility, and portable magnetic loops, large-print text and a FALC booklet are available at reception.
