DOMAINE DES AVANCHES
When it started its training at the beginning of the 1969 school year, the agricultural college of Montmorot immediately associated it with viticulture. The first harvest of his estate, essentially located in the l'Étoile appellation, took place in 1971. But it took 10 years for the winery to get out of the ground. From then on, the estate made its wines in their entirety, the harvest being delivered until then to a trading company. It thus took the name of Domaine des Avanches. The 4 hectares cultivated today by the students therefore mainly produce white wines where the chardonnay takes the lion's share. A little red is produced with the pulse and the trousseau. 10,000 bottles come out of the cellars every year, sold locally and through the network of agricultural high schools in France. With a concern for quality and health, the budding wine growers have turned to the organic sector. The Domaine des Avanches has been approved for five years. A tasting cellar has been set up to receive small groups. It is run by Sandrine Picornot.
