Velleminfroy mineral water was born in an unspoilt natural environment in the heart of Franche-Comté. It is distinguished from other waters by its exceptional minerality and purity.
The story. In 1828, while out for a walk, Dr. Jacquez came across a thin trickle of water to quench his thirst. He immediately noticed the effects of this exceptional water on his body. It wasn't until 30 years later that a water catchment was built and the water was subjected to more in-depth analysis, revealing exceptional mineralization. Following approval by the Imperial Academy of Medicine on December 29, 1859, drilling began with a view to exploiting and selling the water to the public. A pavilion was built to protect the "Source Claire" from the elements, with an octagonal sandstone stele topped by a statue of "L'enfant au dauphin". A prosperous period followed for Velleminfroy, with visitors from all over Europe flocking to the spa, and the water became internationally renowned, even being exported to the region still known as Indochina. But little by little, successive changes of ownership took their toll on the business. It was in 2004 that businessman Paul Poulaillon acquired the estate, with the aim of reviving and promoting the "virtues" of this forgotten spring, through "Source Tom", drilled in 1993.
Plus points. Calcic, magnesian, low in sodium and with 0 nitrate purity, Velleminfroy mineral water can be drunk from the age of 2. In regular cures, it complements the dietary intake of each individual.
