SERVO BALLOON

The balloon of Servance is one of the summits of the Vosges massif, located in Haute-Saône of which it is the highest point. It rises to an altitude of 1,216 m. Its summit is covered with coniferous and deciduous forests and gives birth to the Ognon river, a 213 km long watercourse which flows into the Saône. Snowed in during the winter on its northern face, the Ballon is occupied at its summit by military installations. It is a protected area which offers a superb panorama (the hike lasts about 4 hours) and a small museum in the hamlet of Chateau-Lambert.
