PUTS THE GUM ON CLEANLINESS
It is estimated that more than 20 million chewing gums are consumed annually in Besançon. How many of these 20 million end in a garbage bin? The city surveys do not tell us how many chewing-gums end up on the road, but we all know there are many. Before, the high-pressure and hot water stripping of the pedestrian streets of the city centre cost more than € 240 000. The city's services designed the campaign "Putting Gum on Cleanliness". Thus since 2007, 35 panels display slogans and drawings to encourage the mastiqueurs to paste their gums. And it works. It is estimated that more than 1 000 chewing pasta is deposited every week! Smart not?
Cocorico requires! It even seems that this device was prompted by an idea of the mayor, inspired on a trip to Huddersfield (but the concept is much more basic in the Manche).
