On the left of the Porte Noire, the monumental complex of the Square Castan, the name of the archaeologist who carried out the excavations in the 19th century, is represented by a vast semicircular building. Its function is not identified: there was the remains of a theater or one nymphaeum (water tank), but the truth is that no one knows it. Eight Roman Corinthian columns, built again at the edge of Rue de la Convention, give you an insight of the extent of the disappeared monument.
