Read moreIn 1905, the Costa family began raising and processing pigs in the village of Lama. In the 1970s, Ange Toussaint-Costa decided to set up a butcher's workshop in the basement of a house in Urtaca. At first, production was limited to the winter months, but expanded as the pig farm grew. In 1985, he built a new processing shed, recently enlarged. He is one of the island's three largest producers.
