The Castel de Guido de Sabellis is the ruin of a magnificent fortress high above the village-museum of Corbara.
Castel Guido de Sabellis, also known as the Chapel of the Seven Sorrows, is a ruin overlooking the sea, perched on the heights of Corbara. It takes its name from a Roman prince exiled in Charlemagne's armies and sent on an expedition to liberate the kingdom of Corsica, then under Saracen rule. The province of Balagne was offered to him as a reward for his victory. Guido de Sabellis had a fort built on the summit of a mountain that still bears his name.
