The Convent of Corbara, one of the centers of Christianity in Corsica, was founded by the Friars Minor of the Observance in 1456.

The convent of Saint-François d'Aregno, occupied by the brothers of Saint-Jean, is one of the most important Christian sites in Corsica. It was founded by the Friars Minor of the Observance in 1456. During the French Revolution, it suffered the same fate as other monasteries and became national property. Guy de Maupassant wrote much of his Jésus-Christ here. Pasquale Paoli was a regular visitor. The general public can visit the cloister, attend mass or even adopt the monks' way of life for a few days' retreat.
