Imposing, almost majestic, the former asbestos factory of Canari is visible from the gulf of Saint-Florent so much the white stain that can be seen in the middle of the Cap Corse is intriguing. In the years 1920 to 1965, this quarry was the main asbestos extraction area in France, employing more than 300 people. Access is forbidden because it is dangerous. From this factory, we inherit today two beautiful black pebble beaches, a little further south. Those of Albu and Nonza.

Usine imposante construite contre les roches. En lisant l'histoire on ne peut que triste en imaginant la souffrance de la population qui vivait grâce à cette usine, qui du jour au lendemain a non seulement perdu leur principale source de revenu, mais a découvert par la même occasion les risques sanitaires liées à celle-ci.
