Archaeological site consisting of a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart in Aléria.

The ancient town of Aléria is one of Corsica's largest Roman settlements. The ruins of the ancient town were first described by Prosper Mérimée (1803-1870) during his trip to Corsica in 1839. The archaeological site includes a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart, as well as the partially excavated remains of the ancient Roman city. The website offers a wealth of details on the excavations and the results of recent research, but nothing beats a visit in situ to soak up the atmosphere of the place.

Le musée est magnifique, très bien documenté, le site n’est accessible qu’en partie il manque un peu des panneaux sur le site pour avoir un peu plus d’indications. Néanmoins cela vous fera une belle demi-journée de visite.
