Archaeological site consisting of a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart in Aléria.

The ancient town of Aléria is one of Corsica's largest Roman settlements. The ruins of the ancient town were first described by Prosper Mérimée (1803-1870) during his trip to Corsica in 1839. The archaeological site includes a necropolis and a pre-Roman rampart, as well as the partially excavated remains of the ancient Roman city. The website offers a wealth of details on the excavations and the results of recent research, but nothing beats a visit in situ to soak up the atmosphere of the place.

Open all year round. Open from October 1st to May 15th, opening from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm (last access at 4:30 pm) Closed on Sundays / From May 16th to September 30th, opening from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm (last access at 5:30 pm). Low season: Monday to Saturday from 9am to 5pm (last visit at 4:30pm). High season: Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm (last visit at 5:30pm). Classified as a historical monument. Free for children under 10 years old. Adult : 4 €. Reduced rate / families : 3€. Paying access coupled with the visit of the departmental museum of archaeology / entrance ticket on sale at the museum. Credit card not accepted.

Un musée très enrichissant culturellement. Un mélange de panneaux explicatifs et de vidéos retraçant l'histoire et la géopolitique de la Corse du Veme siècle au III siècle avant JC.

Un accès à l'ancienne capitale et ses vestiges pour nous replonger dans une autre époque.
